01 — VASE
Variation — Mutation produces individuals with different traits — in this case, white or brown fur.
02 — VASE
Adaptation — Some traits are better adapted to the environment. Brown fur blends into grassland; white fur blends into snow.
03 — VASE
Selection — The hawk picks off visible rabbits. Camouflaged individuals survive longer and reproduce more.
04 — VASE
Evolution — Over generations, the advantageous trait spreads. The population evolves to match its environment.

How to run it
1
Open Controls — click the Controls button at the bottom-left to expand the settings panel.
2
Pick an environment & color mix — Grassland or Snow sets which color is favoured. Adjust the starting ratio of white to brown.
3
Hit Start — the simulation runs. Open the Population Chart (bottom-right) to track how color ratios shift each generation.
4
Experiment live — adjust mutation rate or flip environments mid-run. Watch the chart reverse — that's natural selection.
